Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Los Angeles (where there live many, many Fairies, but that’s beside the point), there was a man named Stanley Williams, whose nickname was "Tookie", and whose favorite color was blue. He liked the color blue so very much that he made it the official color of a club he and another man...

So, how many of us are planning to see "Brokeback Mountain", the emotional tale of two gay cowboys and their torrid affair on the Range (and on the fridge….the dining room table…..the floor….the coffee table…..the couch…..) I dunno ‘bout you, but I’m just all a-quiver. Can’t wait to have some of the following questions asked….. 1. Do they ride sidesaddle? 2. Do they carry sixguns or Derringers? 3. Do they "mosey" into town, or "sashay"? 4. Do they have the "gunfighter’s slouch", or the "...
William Jefferson Clinton has at last found his legacy. According to a story I heard on the radio the other day, teens 15-19 are having oral sex at greater than ever numbers. This is because it is viewed as "safer" and "more acceptable" than vaginal sex. Some feel that it isn't really even sex at all, and so engage in it freely and with no compunctions at all, since they will remain a "technical virgin". Please see the links. Do you know why these kids feel this way? Though I couldn't f...
"Jill's Lounge, a Class Act". That's how the commercials go, going on to relate the salacious joys to be offered at Jill's, an upper class (if there is such a thing---"upper class" for those places usually means a $10 or more cover and $5 or more beers) strip club at the Dallas Pike Truck Stop in Triadelphia, West Virginia (a few miles east of Wheeling). To join in the Christmas celebration and get in some community work to show that they're not all naked Booties, Boobs and Hoo-has, they...

My wife has two celebrations today; one is, of course, Thanksgiving. The other, she's not so much looking forward to. Today is her birthday. I want to live, so, just in case she ever sees this, I won't tell you how old she is, but it is one of those "milestone" years. To all the JUers in America: Happy Thanksgiving. To my beloved wife: Happy Birthday.
The turkey is thawing in the fridge, laying next to the ham and the veggies for the salad. Thanksgiving is at our house this year, the first time we've had it since 2001. We have a much bigger place this year, and have invited the whole family; every one of them. So, we bought big. 17-pound bird, 10-pound ham. Lots of potatoes and such....all ready for the big feast. Now, the Weather Channel is telling us that 1-3 inches of snow just might be on the ground by Thanksgiving Day. We've already h...
Actually, as much as I hate these veggie-loving, cow-hugging morons, they might not have a bad idea here. Though I don't like the idea that they're able to control an industry they don't like, I can't fault them for how they're doing it. PETA to Push Hormel on Humane Slaughter By FREDERIC J. FROMMER WASHINGTON (AP) - An animal rights group that owns stock in Hormel Foods Corp. is trying to pressure the nation's largest turkey processor to adopt a more humane method of slaught...
Why does the Left, that entity which claims to so admire things like freedom of speech, the press, thought and things like Human Rights, why do they always seem to embrace the totalitarians and tyrants? The dictatorships and despots? Why do they, these arbiters of unfettered personal expression, always find ways to explain away their favorite tinpot Hitler's oppressive indescretions and apologize for their abuses? I've seen these questions debated again and again here on JU; why do the dic...
The radio station we listen to at work had a story the other day about a recent interview with Little Richard, whom they quoted as saying that it "irritated him" to hear Elvis Presley called "The King of Rock n' Roll". He correctly pointed out that Chuck Berry, who many consider to be the "original" Rock n' Roller, and he, himself, were there before Elvis, making very popular music in this new style. He also mentioned Bill Haley. He considered that they, rather than Elvis, should rightfully b...
I am an extrememly religious person; I have a very strong faith in God and Jesus Christ. I believe the story of the Virgin Birth, the Miracles of Jesus, and of the Resurrection. Religion is the most important aspect of life, simply because it doesn't concern itself with life. It concerns itself with what comes after life, which is infinitely more important than what's happening now. After all, you'll only be here for maybe 70 or 80 years, maybe a little more if you're luck holds out....but ...
My wife and I made a couple of rather large purchases recently, and raced to the bank Saturday morning to deposit our paychecks in order to make sure everything was properly covered. The checks were deposited, the proper buttons pushed, and we were given our deposit slip, thanked, and sent on our way. We should have had much more than enough in our account, then. Monday evening, I went downtown to DiCarlo's Pizza to get us some dinner. The total came to $8.27. I gave the guy my debit card...
Every once in a while on here, I'll see an article or a stray comment in a discussion that casts a favorable light on, or wistfully refers to, Communism and its long-touted wonders. We've all seen them here and there. I mean, we've even got our own Commies and Socies here on JU. What I don't get is how people can still look favorably on such a horribly repressive, corrupt and proven inefficient system, a system that only seems to foster dictators and tyrants. It makes no sense to me. Even, he...
