They called me and said it was too long....I wonder how much will be edited out?
This was written by me in reply to a letter in the 9/28 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
To the editor:
This is to David K. Schoyer, whose daughter attended the anti-Ameri-whoop!---sorry! I should say anti-WAR rally---at a military recruitment office in Oakland, PA on 8/20.
He said she reported that, prior to the "actual confrontation" (which, the more I hear about it, sounds to me like it just may have been instigated by the "peace" demonstrators), a police officer asked them if they’d "forgotten Saddam Hussein and 9/11?" Schoyer refers to the brainwashing, "by Bush Administration propaganda, of Pittsburgh police and millions around the country into believing that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11. But President Bush has never been able to prove this."
No, Mr. Schoyer; the president never said that Saddam was "responsible" for 9/11. All that was said was that some intelligence had indicated that he had, perhaps, somehow aided bin Laden in past anti-American activities.
No, this nugget of propaganda, or rather blatant disinformation, comes from and is spread by the angry, anti-Bush, any-peace-at-any-price liberal Left.
To indicate that Bush did, in fact, say this is a falsehood intentionally placed and loudly trumpeted by the "Bush-bashers", in yet another ongoing effort to discredit the President and the mission in Iraq.
But see, Mr. Schoyer….most Americans know this, and can see through the sad yet devious machinations of the Lying Left and "get-W-any-way-we-can" crowd. We think, for example, that blaming hurricanes on him is pathetic. Perhaps you do not.
You know Mr. Schoyer, maybe the police officer in question was referring to Saddam Hussein, "The Butcher of Baghdad"…..a homicidal tyrant and mass-murderer extraordinaire, who oppressed and terrorized his people and filled untold numbers of mass graves with the bodies of innocent people and political enemies. Maybe it was THAT Saddam Hussein, rather than the one the rabidly anti-Bush Left has concocted. You know the one: Saddam Hussein the (make air quotes----NOW!) "9/11 co-conspirator" (sly grin, wink-wink).
But, you know what? Thanks to George W. Bush and the efforts of the great and brave American military forces, Saddam’s reign of terror won’t be happening anymore. It’s over. Saddam is changing his undershorts in a prison cell, awaiting the justice and fair trial that he denied so many in his nation.
God bless America, and save Her from the nutty Islamic extremists.
These anti-war activities are so very unproductive. They are the pitiful efforts of hateful, angry sore losers and the foot-stamping tantrums of mainly Lefty crybabies who still can’t believe they lost. Twice!
Well, they did, and we’re at war. All of us.
News Flash!
There are people in the world who want to kill us for no reason other than our national identity. They’ve wanted to do this for well before the Bush Administration took office in 2001. In fact, if you want to get to the root of our present troubles, look back to the Carter years, orperhaps even the Truman years. You can't blame Bush.
The people in the military, both the American and Iraqi, deserve our respect and need to see that they have our unconditional support in this conflict.
What they don’t need to see are smelly old hippies, pathetically reliving their glory days of the 1960s, and younger but equally short-sighted, idiotic liberal yahoos, all demonstrating outside recruitment offices and causing scuffles with the law.
That’s so 1968, people. How gauche!
