Odd, is the mayor of Galveston the lady I saw this morning being interviewed? According to her representitives have been sent door to door, neighborhood to neighborood asking who needs transportation. They've also put all the independant school buss drivers and city bus drivers to work evacuating.

I would have sworn it was Galveston, but maybe I am wrong. She said it was estimated that out of the 60,000+ that only a couple thousand had opted to stay behind. Given that electricity hadn't gone out, and that they were informing people that there were ways out, I can't believe anyone is stuck there.

That is IF I'm not a moron and talking about a different city...

You forgot the chest-thumping. Yeah, let's just face it...he's out to do in all the poor, so he and his rich buddies can have the country all to themselves.

I was listening to "Coast-to-Coast" on the way home from work, and some guy has a theory that Katrina and Rita are being caused by the Yakuza (Japanese mafia) and/or the Russian mafia, who each posses the ability to manipulate the weather. But of course, there's no way to know which one it is, because the technology leaves no fingerprints.

You know what I found really remarkable, though? These people weren't complaining and yelling because the government hadn't come to help them or bail them out of the situation. That was their reality, and they had to deal, that's it. Very admirable.
