Jesus Christ is persona-non-grata, but other Gods seem welcome enough
Why does the liberal Left so shudder at the thought of Jesus Christ entering public life once more? They try so hard to litigate Him out of our places of government and education. Why?
Try prominently displaying, or even carrying a Bible around, in a public school or praying to God in the main hall of your local, state or federal government buildings. See what it gets you.
Here on JU, our resident Communist Myrrander says he doesn’t really care so much about it all and dismisses any and all religion, since he’s an atheist. A lot of his articles are anti-Christianity, however, and focus mainly on picking apart that particular faith. Notable absentees from his anti-religion rants are, for example, Allah, Buddha and the Earth Goddess. I find this telling; he’s just one more member of the Left that fears the Cross, for some reason.
Why? Why, as a political force, do they concentrate so much ill will and derision on one faith while saying virtually nothing of others? Especially when that faith focuses so much of its message on many of the same types of things they themselves espouse, such as providing for the poor, peace for humanity, understanding and accepting others and their differences. What’s the problem? And also when a lot of the adherents of one of the faiths they seem to welcome are trying to kill us.
What is it about Christ and His message that brings out the tremendous ire of the liberals? Does anyone know?
