A place for me to pour out my rants without clogging the inboxes of my friends and family. Also a place to give info on myself and Mary, our family news and events.

This is a hearty MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my fellow JUers.
I know, I know.....many of you don't believe in or celebrate Christmas.....fine. Just please accept it in the spirit in which it is offered, okay?

In honor of the holiday, I offer the lyirics to one of my favorite Christmas tunes from childhood:

Snoopy's Christmas--by The Royal Guardsmen

The news had come out
in the First World War---the bloody Red Baron
was flyin' once more.

The Allied Command ignored all of its men
and called on Snoopy
to do it again.

Chorus:
Christmas bells those Christmas Bells
Ringing through the land;
bringing peace to all the world
and good will to men.

'Twas the night before Christmas;
and forty below, when Snoopy went up
in search of his foe.

He spied the Red Baron, and fiercely
they fought;
with ice on his wings, Snoopy knew he was lost!

Chorus

The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sight;
he reached for the trigger, to pull it up tight.
Why he didn't shoot, why, we'll never know.
Or was it the bells, from the village below?

Chorus

The Baron made Snoopy
fly to the Rhine, and forced him to land
behind the enemy lines. Snoopy was
certain that this was the end, when
the Baron cried out "Merry Christmas,
mein freund!"

The Baron then offered
a holiday toast (cork pop), and
Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host.
Then with a roar, they were both on their way,
each knowing they'd meet on some other day.

Chorus

Chorus

I loved this song from the moment I first heard it when in elementary school. I hope it brought as much joy and fun to you as it has to me over the years. Merry Christmas to all, and God bless us every one.
