Hot off the AP wire:
President George W. Bush has just announced that he WILL NOT be running in the 2008 Presidential Election. That’s right, America, he will NOT!
"It saddens me to know that will not be running in the next election," Bush said. "I will no longer be your President from 2009 on. It will be someone else’s time."
The Democrats, having focused and based their entire platform on the defeat of Bush in ’08, are said to be experiencing emotions ranging from flabbergasted and stunned to completely inconsolable.
Senators Hillary Clinton (D), New York, and Barbara Boxer (D), California, however, were very pleased and satisfied with his decision.
"I always knew he’d bail," Clinton was noted as having said. "He was bound to eventually abandon the American people; when the going gets tough, you know….."
"We finally got him; what a loser," Boxer added with a smile. "He’s ancient history."
For those liberals and Democrats here whose sense of humor has been completely eroded by their side's hysteria and self-serious rhetoric and dogma, this was intended as a joke.
It is also a warning; Bush leaves office in less than three years; you have less than that time to beat the new guy.
Stop worrying about Bush and focus on doing what little you can against the next Republican who will come along and crush you. There are wild accusations to be made and useless questions to be asked. Better get started now if you want a less painful loss.
