A place for me to pour out my rants without clogging the inboxes of my friends and family. Also a place to give info on myself and Mary, our family news and events.
The only real solution, in my mind.

Yes, I think the Democrats may be right, for a change. It’s time we started talking. Negotiations do indeed seem the only way to resolve the current situation with the Islamic Fundamentalists and terrorists.
Pull out of Iraq, bring the troops home. Allow the area to settle a bit. Let the Islamists do as they will, and just live and let live.

You know, I really think we should invite their leaders to the table, just to talk. Embrace them; find out what motivates them, what makes them hate us so much. We need to try and understand what makes them tick.

Then, when we’ve at last come to a better understanding of them, and them of us, the representatives in the American delegation should stand up, take out machine guns and mow them down like zombies in a George Romero flick.
Shoot them like Michael Corleone shot Virgil Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey; like Han Solo shot Greedo. Right across the table of peace (although Greedo DID have the drop on Han).
After that, we take our new understanding of them and use it to kill them in droves, to butcher them by the bushel. Then, we drop a few tactical nukes on their strongholds. After all, they do respect strength and force.
Once we’ve done all that, we invite them back for a talk. Maybe then things will work out better. I’m all for this plan.

Show of hands?

Which Democrats have advocated negotiating with the insurgents?

I'm all for this idea!

yep kill enough of them and they will get a clue and talk, maybe instead of one billion Muslims we could par it down a bit, around 1,000,000 sounds manageable.

I say send Murtha! He knows geography so well! And Turbin! He knows his history slurs!

After all they won! And now, a week later, they still have not done a diddly damn. Geez, are the going to govern by ignoring?

I agree with some of your points. Iraq failed because the US administrators had no idea of how to manage a province. They really should have done more research with the aid of the British, who've always been good at colonial rule. Killing negotiators though is a waste of time, because no one sent to negotiate would be of any importance to the resistance movements. Better to follow them home (electronically, physically, whatever works) and then find out where their leaders are.

Do you often find proposals for mass murder funny? Does the thought of human suffering make you hard? If so, perhaps you need psychiatric assistance.

Yes, the holocaust was so much fun we may as well repeat it.

If I made a joke about the holocaust you would go apeshit. But you seem to feel you can make jokes about inflicting a holocaust on someone else. It's hypocritical, modman.

Anyway, it wasn't funny. Can you honestly say you laughed out loud as you wrote that? I don't know what kind of person would find that line hilarious, and I'm not sure I want to find out.

As for my sense of the absurd... You've never shown yourself to be sympathetic to Muslims, so when you call for their deaths it's easy to think you might actually mean it. After all, you do say it so often and with such vehemence.

The events today in Iraq should convince ANY rational person that Iraq is a disaster and a lost cause. The people of Iraq will have to sort out what becomes of that country. Everyday we risk our troops with NO benefit. The police and the military we have spent 3 years creating are part of the violence and part of an ever increasing sectarian battle that we simply can not resolve. This will be the hallmark of the presidency of GWB-- A disaster of major proportions.

I understand that the majority of the post was a lame attempt at humor, but it appeared to me that his first line was serious and led into the alleged "joke".

I don't find this humorous. In fact, I find this sick, and i think you should go get checked out by a shrink RW. Seriously.

Ya know, I was thinking the other day. It's folks like you, and other hardline conservatives/republicans, that push me farther to the left.

It's also the hardline liberals/democrats that keep me from being radical/hardline left.

Go figure, I'm a freaking irony.

No, you're a freaking idiot. RW isn't sick, he's merely proposing a solution which is unethical but which would actually work (given some refinements). Do you really think it helps anyone to go about doing things in a half-arsed fashion? Half-arsed wars that drag on for decades because US forces lack the subtlety for peaceful solutions and moral certainty for brutal ones cause far more lasting damage than his plan ever could (assuming of course RW would let them surrender before dropping more than one or two nukes).

The civilian deathtoll in Iraq has been posited everywhere from 50k or so to half a million. Had the US gone in and killed that many on the very first day and then slave-camped the rest there would be no resistance movement. Instead the war drags on with no end in sight. It's vacillating folks like you that cause the most damage as you prevent your state in the bloodthirsty manner it's made for. The US can't do peace, so by forcing it to moderate its bloodlust you make it terrible at war as well. That's hardly a good thing for you or anyone else.

Seems like a good plan to me.
on Nov 14, 2006
I actually like the idea.

Of course that may be the half Italian part of me talking.

It's folks like me? It's folks like me, who prefer peace of war, life over death, who don't care for bloodshed.

It's folks like me that fight for your rights on the homefront. We stand up to those who would dare take away your liberties.

If that makes me wrong in your eyes, then so be it.

I'm fucking proud of who I am, and I don't plan on changing it.

So piss off.

there would be no resistance movement.

Oh bullshit, there would still be.

You do realize that we'd be looked at as horrible people even more, that we'd be no better than we were in WW2.

Oh, then why not intern all muslims here in the US? Why not, they're all the same right?

So, you can pull back, and re think your comment, perhaps?

Cause, you made yourself look silly.

I would no more tolerate the genocide of any race than I would tolerate another holocaust on the JEWS.
How can you think I would condone the murder of nine hundred thousand people?

I talk a mean talk, but could not, would not harm anyone unless it came down to me and you {the generic you}.
As for me being sympathetic to Muslims, how could I/ all they want to do is eradicate Jews.

I am disappointed in you cacto, you have become a parody of what was once someone I respected even if we do disagree most times.

The big difference to me is, there was a real holocaust, my supposing to kill 900,000 people while sounding weird is just that IMAGINARY. The Muslims sound more like Nazis everyday and they are not just running their mouths like I did, they are for real.
